Artist Statement
I am a relief printmaker working primarily in linocut, drawn to the bold, tactile qualities of the medium. My prints are defined by solid fields of color, strong lines, and striking compositions that translate the vitality of the natural world into graphic form.
My work is rooted in the landscapes of the Great Plains. I began by focusing on its iconic wildlife, especially the bison, whose presence embodies both the history and resilience of this region. More recently, my attention has turned toward the native plants and wildflowers of the prairie, species often overlooked yet deeply integral to the Plains' character and ecology.
Through my practice, I aim to honor these subjects and invite viewers to see them anew. Each print is both a study and a celebration, an effort to review the quiet richness of the prairie and to foster a deeper sense of connection to this often-underappreciated place.
