Lincoln Artists' Guild Website

Soon after joining the Lincoln Artist's Guild in January 2019, I was asked to help manage the Guild's website. Being familiar with the website as a user, I had recognized the need for some design attention. After meeting with other Guild members, it was agreed that the best steps moving forward would be to simply rebuild the site from scratch in a new management system. As a Guild member, I volunteered my time to rebuild, redesign, and relaunch the site. The new site was officially launched on March 1, 2019.

The site was built and hosted using Blogger. Having only received content maintenance over the past several years, the visual appearance of the site was in need of refreshing. Additionally, members indicated difficulty locating information on the site, and Guild leadership requested some way to privately share information and resources with members through the site. Previous web managers had indicated difficulty managing the Blogger site. The new site needed to be easier for others to manage and update and have sufficient support and resources available to help future web managers.

The site was rebuilt using WordPress. The new website design offered several new features, including an updated appearance, a password protected member-only webpage, an embedded Google calendar for upcoming events, a contact form, and a blogging system for public news and announcements.
